At Newlands Girls' School we are committed to developing the life chances of all of our students. We aim to encourage and inspire all students through a programme of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG).

Some of the things we look at as part of the Careers Programme are:

  • Career pathways
  • Particular sectors and self employment
  • Employability and Enterprise skills
  • Developing skills of independent learning/research
  • Job hunting, CVs and interview skills
  • Further and higher education options, including Russell Group universities
  • Alternatives to university such as apprenticeships and other school leaver programmes

CEIAG is provided in an independent and impartial manner with the needs of the individual student at the forefront. We are also proud to be holders of the 'Business Ready' award which highlights our extensive work with employers, and we are strong supporters of National Careers Week.

To find details of the statutory obligations of the school regarding CEIAG, please look at the GOV.UK website which can be found here.
